Why do people think of Pakistan as a "hot country?"

Many people including ignorant Pakistanis think of Pakistan as a "hot, humid" country only. They look on the world map and see how close Pakistan is to the equator and judge the country's entire climate from that.
In reality, certain areas of Pakistan can get colder than many European countries during the winters.

Areas of northern and western Pakistan are at very high altitudes that temperatures can fall to minus twenty degrees Celsius. In the Pakistani city of Quetta in the Balochistan province the average temperatures is minus fourteen which is comparable to winter temperatures in North American cities.

In the winters of 2007, the temperatures of Quetta were said to have fallen to minus seventeen degrees Celsius.

The Kashmir province of Pakistan, being far away from the equator and having a high altitude at the same time can bring temperatures as low as minus twenty degrees Celsius.
Even in warmer areas of Pakistan, temperatures can fall to less than ten degrees Celsius and with no indoor heating most of the time, it feels far colder.

I remember being in Skardu, Northern Pakistan during the summer of 1992 and people including Western tourists wore sweaters at night and sat around fires.

The inferiority complex of non-white third world people towards the white first world

Many people from the third world hold an inferiority complex towards white people and the first world (by white in this case I mean someone of European descent).
These people eagerly gain citizenship in European and North American countries. They deny any links to their country and deny their culture.

They pretend having a foreign country's citizenship will change their DNA. They use the argument that living in another country for a long time makes them a native of that country.

This is probably the weakest and silliest argument. Living in a country for ages doesn't automatically change your ethnicity. The other argument "I was born there" can also be ridiculed. Being born in a country doesn't change your ethnicity either anymore than being born in a lion's den doesn't make you a lion.

Being a citizen of a country is one thing and calling yourself a citizen of that country is normal.
But when you pretend that your citizenship somehow makes you "white" or changes your country of origin, you clearly have an inferiority complex.

I know people who lived in the USA and seem to be extremely proud of it. People who vigorously claim "We threatened nuclear war, we this we that..."
Many also try to pass off as whites or try to act like Anglo-Americans.

In Western countries the politically correct way to determine where a person is from is by their nationality. Anything to the contrary is "racist."
And this is something that makes the white wannabe third world immigrants extremely happy and their denial in who they are.

On the contrary, a person's ethnic origin has always determined on their ancestors and science has never allowed citizenship or language in classifying one's race.
What these third world white wannabe immigrants don't realize is they are only making themselves look bad.

They pride in knowing the languages of Europe weather French, Spanish, English or any other, thinking it will make them superior.
Not realizing it won't make them special. Their quest to hide their true ethnicity and origin will only be ridiculed by those who notice.

Why I would never travel for Haj or Umrah

Though I was born a Muslim and have a strong respect for many of Islam's values, I have been quite puzzled at the way most Muslims engage in clear idol worship.
Love for the prophet and for Islam's holy shrines are so great, when Islam forbids anything more sacred than God.

Muslims frequently claim the worship of statues and other objects as 'idol worship' or making any physical object sacred as 'idol worship' too, yet we engage in these practices ourselves.

Imagine if the Kabbah was destroyed in an Earthquake, where would we worship? I find this nothing more than idol worship.

Then there's the part of spending money on going there and coming back. Money that could be donated to supporting the environment or education. I often wonder if a person who performs haj can expect to be forgiven for his/her sins than one who contributes to his/her society.

The worship of God should be put above any religious monument or anything holy. The other point is, the performance of Haj seems to me as too 'ritualistic.'
Circling around a black building several times because it is a command to do so.

Instead of making simple prayers asking for the best of all, so much ritualistic and a pattern of praying. The lines recited are the same, mostly in Arabic which most non-Arab Muslims don't even understand.

The whole Haj and Umrah visits have become nothing more than a money making industry, with airlines and the Saudi government making profits out of them.
Would Islam or any similar religion advocate such kind of exploitation of religious sites for profits?
Would it even endorse the use of precious money that many Muslim countries could make proper use of such as raising educational and living standards. Had Muslims countries met these basic needs we wouldn't be so dependent on Western countries for education or sophisticated products.

Many might argue against me and my opinions claiming it's customary in Islam. But then Islam has so many interpretations. And at times one has to use reason to come across the right answer.
No true prophet or religious leader would endorse the way religious pilgrims are being run today. How moral is it? Morality makes up the core of religion.

Many corrupt politicians from other Muslim countries make Haj or Umrah trips at the expense of the tax payer, even when the payment for the transport should be covered by one's own income.

Knowing all this and the way even the worst sinners make these trips, I would not go for Haj. Instead I would prefer to spend my profits on charities and other good causes.

We are more Westernized than we think

Most of the privileged elites in are affected by Westernization more so than they think.
For example, people take deep pride in learning Western languages as if it's an achievement despite we haven't mastered our own languages.

Tourist destinations popular amongst Westerners is also popular amongst the Westernized elites. For example, people want to visit places such as Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka all popular Western destinations.
Very few want to visit interesting places such as Mongolia or Central Asia because they don't seem to be popularized by the Western tourism market.

This is not to say all destinations, but in general many of them. Another thing I notice is people want to learn languages such as Thai or other languages popular amongst Westerners such as French, Japanese and others.

Most elites don't want to know their local languages and history. And this is despite the fact that many of us don't watch Hollywood movies or eat at fast food restaurants.
If one did, then he/she would acknowledge how Westernized he/she is. But the way many elites try to understand the world in their quest for global understanding leads them to Western type mentalities even without realizing it.

What VenomFangX's agenda was in my judgement

I first came across VenomFangX in 2007 when I was in search for anti-Islam videos on YouTube.
A few days later I searched for videos that "prove" the existence of God or at least some videos that try to prove the existence of God using some logical, scientific explanations and amongst the top results came VenomFangX again.

This was when he caught my interest. Not long after many rebuttal videos were posted in response to his pseudoscience. Soon YouTube was filled with videos refuting and ridiculing him.
Even after watching more and more of his videos where he misquotes the Bible, such as the Earth being spherical when everyone else pointed out it clearly says circle, he simply ignored the rebuttals.

After several instances of such misquotes and dis-proven theories, I concluded that VenomFangX was not who he presented himself to be: a right wing Christian fundamentalist.
I guessed him to be somebody deliberately trying to defame Christians and at the same time incite hatred between Christians and Muslims.

After watching many of his videos, I managed to get a close observance on his appearance. Looking carefully through his appearance, I guessed he was Jewish. Now this may sound racist to some readers, but I'd like to clarify a few things.

Firstly, I have no issue with the Jews. It has been in my opinion that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an issue between the Jews and the Arabs and that Pakistan should stay out of it.

Secondly is the idea that judging somebody's ethnicity by their appearance is somehow "racist."
Living in a multi-cultural continent for almost ten years now, I have managed to distinguish various peoples races by their appearance. It involves no such hateful ideas.

I have been able to distinguish Jews of European descent from regular Europeans as much as I have been able to distinguish people from Northern European descent than those of Southern European descent.
Even another Pakistani Muslim friend of mine in a conversation told me there was simply no way of telling VenomFangX's ethnicity through his appearance and dismissed my theories.

But I confidently held on to this idea of who he is and what his true agenda on YouTube was.

I lost all interest in VenomFangX and his videos for almost two years. Then in March 2010, out of boredom I searched him on YouTube to uncover the whole scandal that led to the closure of his account.
I watched the videos that led to this and it turned out I was correct on his Jewish background the whole time.

As I viewed videos on the controversy, in some of the videos it was stated that his parents wanted to send him away from their household because of his right wing Christian beliefs.
I then came to the idea after learning of his activities on the Internet, he made up the whole story of his parents wanting to send him out of the house for his Christian beliefs, since I was already convinced he was faking his right wing Christian views.

There were other things in the videos on his scandal that raised question marks in my mind and brought out reasonable answers, but I'd rather not discuss them to avoid being accused of trying to breach the privacy of his family.

My theories on him posing as a Christian to defame Christians as a whole and to incite hatred against them into Muslims and vice versa was because I had come across Jews in my school who had a hatred for Christianity and Islam.
So what better way of hitting two birds with one stone than to do what VenomFangX did?

What's more is there are fundamentalist Jews in the West who promote pro-Jewish sects inside Christianity to suit their agenda.
It's very similar to how Arabs are funding Islamic institutes in non-Arab countries that promote Wahabbism or a sect in Sunni Islam that makes Arabs the superior race over non-Arabs.

This is also a tactic shared by the Iranian government which extends it's influence in the Muslim by supporting Shia fundamentalists that glorify the Iranian state.

But my whole point is to share my belief that VenomFangX was not what everyone else thought him to be.
Many of his haters believe that he kept returning to YouTube under a new account. I believe that it's one or more of his haters who are trying to impersonate as him and try to elevate his troubles.

I also want to point out to readers who may accuse me of privacy breaching that VenomFangX is now a famous individual on the Internet and is mentioned in various websites. His videos have all been reloaded onto YouTube and other blogs also discuss him and his controversy so there is no way my post can be a violation of his privacy.

Neither have I mentioned his full name, nor have I discussed in detail his personal life. All that was mentioned was his activity on the internet, which many people are already aware of, so there is no privacy violation on my part.

Columbia house DVD club needs to be shut down.

Back in 2006 I took an offer by Columbia House DVD Club for buying nine DVDs for 49 cents each.
I was gullible and ordered them. Next thing I received a package of the fourteen DVDs on full price. I refused, knowing the offer was 49 cents each.

Then about a few weeks later, I got a letter and a bill adding to the amount which claimed I hadn't paid the original amount. They made all sorts of legal threats including extracting cash from my credit card info and reduce my credit rating or something of that sort.

Luckily I had no credit card. Knowing I had clearly not asked for this and was cheated, I did some research on the Internet to learn that people had the same problems as me and some even worse.

Columbia House DVD Club even opens accounts or sends DVDs to people without their permission and charges them without consent.
This is clearly illegal. It is a surprise that this company has survived by stealing and fraud. I was lucky since a friend of one of my parents worked for a sister company for Columbia House and had my account closed.

Before that I was part of an online group that had petitioned for legal action against Columbia House. Nothing has happened ever since, but this needs to be brought to the attention of the government for a court order to sue the company for it's theft and terminate it permanently.

The problems described by most people can be seen in this video:

People who want to act heroic

Watch the video first:

The focus of the post is not the crazy pedophile who should be behind bars or executed. It's the reporter who goes up to him and starts acting all tough.
As you can see in the video, he's being asking the pedophile to stay back, when he himself seems to want to get close to him.

Then he also starts to tell him "I'm not a thirteen year old boy."
Perhaps I'm wrong, maybe the reporter was instructed and paid to question the child rapist like this.

But as far as I can see, the reporter seems to be enjoying this. He seems to be enjoying puffing out his chest and trying to intimidate the rapist. The point that when child rapists and others commit their crimes, there are people who seem to get a kick out of going to them and asking them intimidating questions.

I once saw a similar video on an American TV news report of a lawyer trying to be heroic and questioning the rapist in a similar matter.
It's almost as if these people want to use incidents like these as an opportunity to get all this attention and start acting heroic about.

Are people supposed to be impressed with the reporter? I feel that cases of pedophilia should also be noted for the reporters and others who almost seem to be waiting for the rapists to come out and play the role of the villain while they play the role of the hero.

All that was required was a police be dispatched to monitor the pedophiles and leave it there. Who knows there could be an incident where one of these 'heroic' reporters as seen in the video might end up getting hurt or even killed.
No point in allowing them to chase after such dangerous people. They could easily be armed with a gun or a knife.
